Jun 4    Sustainability Opportunities for Small Businesses

Small businesses often see "sustainability" as a luxury, especially when time and

resources are the most valuable asset. Business owners may want to increase the environmental sustainability of their operations but knowing where to start or finding the time to research opportunities can feel overwhelming.

But what if going green meant keeping more green in your bottom line? Implementing sustainable practices isn’t just good for the planet. It’s an essential business strategy for reducing utility bills, optimizing operations, and attracting a rapidly growing base of eco-conscious consumers.

Join us for this action-oriented webinar where we break down how Illinois small

businesses can leverage the Illinois Green Business Program and its resources. We’ll share key sustainability strategies for every company, highlight free resources and incentives available to local businesses, and show you how to gain a competitive edge by aligning your business with sustainability.

You will gain:

  • The ROI of Sustainability: How energy efficiency, waste diversion, and water conservation directly impact your cash flow.
  • Cost-Saving Opportunities: Strategies that every business can take to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency
  • Utility and State Resources: How to tap into free site assessments, technical assistance, and stackable local utility incentives (like ComEd and Nicor Gas).
  • Marketing Your "Green": How to utilize your sustainability actions to differentiate your brand and build customer loyalty.

Jun 21    Music @ Grace Invites Singers for Summer “Come and Sing” Sundays in Lake Forest
Music @ Grace Invites Singers for Summer ?Come and Sing? Sundays
Grace Anglican Fellowship welcomes singers for June 21 and June 28 and looks ahead to a limited once-a-month fall choir schedule.
Lake Forest, Illinois ? Music @ Grace at Grace Anglican Fellowship is inviting singers to join two welcoming summer ?come and sing? Sundays on June 21 and June 28 as the parish grows its choir for the fall.
Exciting things are happening at Grace, and the music ministry is building a choir that is prayerful, welcoming, and musically strong. The invitation is open to singers of all voice parts and a range of experience levels, including experienced choral singers, singers returning after time away, developing singers, voice students, and classical musicians looking for a supportive sacred music setting.
The June 21 and June 28 services are intended as friendly, low-pressure opportunities to experience Music @ Grace before the fall. Music and rehearsal files will be sent ahead of time, and singers will participate in a focused run-through before the service.
The choir meets at 10:00 a.m. each Sunday to run through music in the choir loft. In worship, the choir helps lead the congregation in the liturgy and hymns in addition to offering anthems.
The invitation may be especially helpful for singers whose usual church choirs are on summer break. Music at Grace continues year-round, and these two Sundays offer a short-term summer choir home for singers who want to keep singing, serve the Church, and explore a warm parish music community.
Looking ahead to the fall, the Grace choir is expected to sing about once a month, making the commitment limited, meaningful, and manageable.
Music @ Grace is also glad to hear from voice teachers who have students looking for thoughtful, real-world singing experience in a worship setting. While this is an unpaid volunteer opportunity, it may be a meaningful setting for developing singers seeking choral experience, solo or small-ensemble opportunities, sight-reading growth, liturgical awareness, and practical musicianship in a supportive environment.
Singers do not need to make a long-term commitment in order to come and try it. The goal is simply to welcome singers, hear them, and help them find a place in the music if it feels like a good fit.
Interested singers may contact Ken Martin, Interim Music Coordinator, at 206-856-6881 or graceanglicanmusic@gmail.com.
