DESCRIPTION:A Safe Place\, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing services\, programs\, and resources to empower and transform the lives of victims of domestic violence and their children is hosting its 17th annual "Drive Out Domestic Violence" Golf Outing on Monday\, August 19 at Briarwood Country Club in Deerfield.\n\n \n\nThe event\, which raises much needed funds for the agency's lifesaving work for families of domestic violence\, includes a luncheon\, raffle\, on-course events\, live auction\, dinner\, and cocktails. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and the shotgun start is at 12:30 p.m.\n\n \n\n"With the support of caring and generous sponsors\, donors\, and community members\, our golf outing last year raised over $70\,000\," said A Safe Place Chief Executive Officer\, Pat Davenport. "With this support\, we had the resources to continue providing life-saving and transformative services for our neighbors all over the Chicagoland area."\n\n \n\nAs Lake County's only provider of services solely dedicated to domestic violence\, A Safe Place provides 24-hour crisis support\, emergency shelter\, affordable housing\, court advocacy\, supervised and monitored family visitations\, and individual and group therapy to survivors of domestic violence and their children\; educational programs for the community\; and intervention services for abusers to learn accountability for their choices and actions. Last year\, A Safe Place served more than 29\,000 adults and children in the Chicagoland area and Wisconsin.\n\n \n\n"One out of every three women and one out of every five men   over 88\,000 of our neighbors   will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. Only through staying visible will we stop the spread of domestic violence\," said Davenport.\n\n \n\nCorporate and individual sponsorships are available and registration is open for individuals or foursomes.
