In addition to highlighting Price's music in MIC teaching studios and on stage at Nichols Concert Hall\, the Music Institute of Chicago community will gather on May 1 and 2 for a special weekend of interactive workshops and a faculty-student showcase concert\, all to connect our students and audiences to her music.\n\nMore about Florence Price\n\nFlorence Price was the first African-American woman to have her music played by a symphony orchestra.
