DESCRIPTION:Ragdale\, the nationally acclaimed artists' retreat in Lake Forest\, continues its summer performance series on Thursday\, August 18 at 7pm with Jazz Now curated by cellist and composer Tomeka Reid. Enjoy an evening of original jazz compositions performed by the international\, collaborative string trio Hear in Now featuring voice\, violin\, bass and cello. Recently described as a "New Jazz Power Source" by the New York Times\, Chicago cellist and composer Tomeka Reid has emerged as one of the most original\, versatile\, and curious musicians in Chicago's bustling jazz and improvised music community over the last decade. Hear in Now members also include: Mazz Swift\, composition\, voice and violin (New York)\, Silvia Bolognesi composition and bass (Italy). The performance takes place in the Ragdale Ring\, an open-air performance venue designed by SPORTS\, which was recently chosen in an international competition for outstanding young architects. Guests are encouraged to bring their family and friends\, a lawn chair or picnic to enjoy an arts-filled evening outdoors at twilight.
