Gertrude Stein (1874-1946) was an American author and poet best known for her modernist writings, extensive art collection and Saturday evening literary salon in 1920 Paris. Entrée into her salon was a sought after validation, and Ms. Stein became a combination of mentor, critic and guru to those who gathered around her including Ernest Hemingway and Pablo Picasso. This portrayal of Ms. Stein is adapted and performed by Betsey Means.
