Ragdale, the historic artists’ residency in Lake Forest, concludes its sixth annual Ragdale Ring Performance Series with an engaging program of dance for all the family on Saturday, September 15 at 4pm.
Dance-Scape is an interactive movement piece inspired by the beauty of Ragdale’s prairie landscape and the dynamic design of the open-air Ragdale Ring. The performance features long-legged stilt dancers, live music and students from the Hubbard Street Pre-Professional program.
Curator and choreographer, Kristina Isabelle reflects, “The performance is not just a dance, but a moving mediation that allows the audience to truly observe, breathe, feel the ground and witness the environment as it comes to life.“
Kristina Isabelle is a dancer, choreographer, teacher and the artistic director of Kristina Isabelle Dance Company for the last 16 years. She creates multi-media dance productions that integrate articulate dancing on stilts as well as site specific environmental dance-scapes.
The event takes place in the 2018 Ragdale Ring “Noodle Soup,” the outdoor garden theater designed by Galo Cañizares and Stephanie Sang Delgado in the annual international competition for outstanding, young architects.
Guests are encouraged to bring their family and friends, a lawn chair, or picnic for these arts-filled performances. Ragdale is located at 1230 N. Green Bay Road in Lake Forest.
