Authentic Japanese Tea Ceremony
Observe and learn about the tradition and rituals of the Japanese Tea Ceremony. The Urasenke School in Chicago is demonstrating, in full Kimono costume, the proper preparation and service of the very special green tea and the unique sweet that is served with it.
You will receive a taste of this specialty tea and sweet, provided courtesy of The Green Teaist in downtown Lake Forest. There will be authentic music, as well, and you will come away learning one aspect of Japanese culture, as represented in the book, The Street of a Thousand Blossoms, the book that is featured by Lake Forest Library and Ragdale as the one-book/one community event.
Watch for other events in the city, related to this special collaboration.
