SUMMARY:CAREER TRANSITIONS – FLIP THE SCRIPT
DESCRIPTION:Presented by: Lauren Milligan\, CEO & Founder of ResuMAYDAY\n\n Career transitions are challenging\, but not impossible. Candidates moving from one industry/position to another are competing against others who currently work in those roles or industries\; the goal is to illustrate to employers that your transferable skills outweigh direct experience. In this presentation\, we'll cover real life examples of people who have successfully transitioned from one industry to another: how they identified and capitalized on transferable skills\, and how they presented these skills on paper and in the interview. \n\n \n\nAfter years of working in a corporate setting in recruiting and sales\, Lauren Milligan started to have that 'entrepreneurial bug'. In September of 2001\, she left her comfy corporate job to start ResuMAYDAY. She also writes a TribLocal blog that covers job search and career advancement topics\, is a frequent contributor to CareerBuilder.com articles\, has been featured in several publications\, and a guest on several talk shows.
