Please join us for this 3-Part Series on learning about Grants. The amount of information about Grants cannot be covered in one Workshop so we will be conducting three separate Workshops on understanding Grants
The Workshop is Part 3 of our 3-Part Series on Grants. At this Workshop , we will be discussing Grant Monitoring and Compliance, Grant Reporting, The Role Of Networking, and the Value of Competitors
Some of the things you can expect to learn by attending all three of these Workshops is :
Gain a better understanding of advocating and communicating your business through planning
Understand the importance of funding research and planning
Formulate strategies for your success.
The Facilitator for these Workshops will be Linda Bowen. After 30 years as a professional in technology planning, production operations, and project management in the telecommunications and transportation industries, Linda turned her attention to her community to serve on two Non-Profit Boards. It was on these Non-Profit Boards where she had her first exposure to Grants. First with helping with application writing and later working with compliance issues.
Linda's spent the the last 12 years working with various units of government to administer Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Community Development Block Grants 9 CDBG)/ Disaster Recovery funds. As aCommunity Development Specialist she specialized in disaster recovery grant management services including but not limited to, the following duties:
Reviewed Grant Requests and Grant Applications package for infrastructure projects
Manage planning grant programs to assist communities in the development and adoption of forward-thinking comprehensive plans to guid along-term flood recovery efforts and flood mitigation
Managed Public Assistance Grants to provide reimbursement (FEMA Match Funds) for infrastructure projects to struggling counties and villages
Developed policy and procedures manuals
Provided grant management assistance to procure construction and engineering services.
Provided technical assistance as necessary to ensure grant compliance with federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations
