Join us as we kick off our Special Guest Chef Series with a collaborative summer dinner celebrating local ingredients and the meaningful connection between chefs and farmers. On Tuesday, August 19, Elawa Farm welcomes Chef Tom of the upcoming Evanston restaurant Burl—created by Chef Tom Carlin and Rachel Canfora-Carlin, for a one night only, field-to-fork feast set on Elawa’s historic Lake Forest estate. This special evening will highlight the best of the season, beginning with a welcome cocktail and followed by a five-course menu featuring grilled flatbreads with eggplant and peaches, country ham terrine, Burl’s achar-roasted carrots, grilled Catalpa Grove lamb with mole verde, and a summer fruit crostada with honey ice cream. Guests will enjoy an early taste of Chef Tom's seasonal, produce-driven cuisine ahead of the restaurant’s 2025 debut—an experience rooted in local farms, creative collaboration, and the spirit of summer.
