Lead by a registered nurse from Northwestern Lake Forest Hospital, a police officer from the Lake Forest Police Department, and the American Red Cross, they will cover the following topics and more:
- Basic first aid
- Proper phone skills-how to respond when someone calls
- Door and window safety situations
- Fire safety-what to do if they smell smoke or gas
- Kitchen safety
- Severe Weather procedures
- Sibling Rivalry
- Making general house rules
- Properly escaping the home in an emergency
- Parent-Child Communication
They will also receive hands-on experience learning how to operate a fire extinguisher and learn how to check to make sure a smoke alarm is working properly.
