Your community orchestra is also delighted to share here its recently updated mission statement, reflecting its fresh outreach and connection to the local communities: The Lake Forest Civic Orchestra is a member-funded and donor-supported community orchestra dedicated to performing high quality orchestral repertoire on the North Shore. Our full-size orchestra, consisting of dedicated volunteer musicians under the guidance of a professional Music Director, is formed of members of the local community, for the benefit of the local community. In addition to our orchestral concert series at the Gorton Community Center, we also: ? offer scholarship programs for young musicians, ? provide chamber performances at senior centers and other community venues, ? partner actively with other local musical groups who share our belief that everyone benefits from playing and hearing the wonders of classical music. To follow the LFCO throughout the season and receive information about upcoming concerts, the events we participate in within the community, or entertaining items orchestra members want to share, please ?like? our Facebook page. The March 20, 2016, concert marks Music Director Robert Nordling?s third appearance as LFCO music director. He was selected last year to lead the orchestra after a year-long search. Please join Your Community Orchestra for the upcoming concert!
