Ragdale's eighth annual Novel Affair benefit brings together renowned authors, artists, and architects for two evenings of creativity and conversation in support of Ragdale, the artist retreat in Lake Forest. The event offers guests the opportunity to be engaged, inspired, and challenged by the artists and their work. The weekend begins with a reception attended by all of the artists in attendance at the Chicago Botanic Garden on Friday, September 26 and concludes with an intimate dinner and lively discussion with one of the artists at a private home of distinction on Saturday, September 27. The 2014 line-up of best-selling authors and award-winning artists and architects is: -Sherman Alexie ? Native American poet, filmmaker, and award-winning author of twenty-four books, including "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian". -Jean Kwok ? Chinese-American novelist of the New York Times bestseller "Girl in Translation", and recently released "Mambo in Chinatown". -Judy Ledgerwood & Tony Tasset ? On Saturday, September 27, dinner begins at 6:30pm in distinctive private homes and venues in Chicago and the North Shore. Novel Affair is coordinated by Ragdale?s Events Committee, co-chaired by Board Trustees Sandra Deromedi and Marci Holzer.
