Red Ribbon Race 5K

The 9th annual LEAD Red Ribbon Race is right around the corner and we're excited to announce some big changes we've made to make this the best year yet! Thanks to runners like you, this race has been growing rapidly over the past few years and with 500 participants last year the 5K race didn't run as smoothly as we would have liked. We are committed to making this a fun and successful community race and as promised, we have made a number of improvements to ensure that this year's races go off without a hitch! Bring in the experts! We've hired Adrenaline Sports Management (ASM) to manage, facilitate and staff the event on race day. ASM is a locally based company that specializes in the formation and production of athletic events throughout the country. Chip check! We've introduced chip timing for more accurate results. The LEAD Red Ribbon Race 5K Run and 2K Fun Run & Walk will take place in conjunction with the 5th annual "Taste of Wellness" fair. The wellness fair will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 12 Noon and will feature more than 15 wellness exhibitors plus games and activities for the whole family! We hope you'll support LEAD and sign up for this year's race. Proceeds from this event will go directly toward continuing LEAD's work in shaping, changing and saving the lives of young people through parent and youth education, emotional wellness programming, and substance abuse prevention. For the second year in a row, LEAD's Red Ribbon Race is part of the Lake County Race Series. We are proud to be a part of this four race circuit that provides cash prizes for race participation and scoring based on four age-graded categories: Under 40 Men and Women, 40+ Men and Women, based on results in the following races: GLASA 5K Twilight Run, Rock and Roll (8/13), Swinging Bridge 8K Trail Race (9/18), LEAD Red Ribbon Race 5K (10/22) and The Pumpkin Chase 5K (10/29).
