Description
Christian Dillingham Jazz Quartet Hot Jazz in March! We will be warming things up this month with the Christian Dillingham Quartet! Grammy Award-winning bassist, Christian Dillingham, is equally at home in two musical worlds. His parents spun jazz records around the house, while his mother was an avid pianist who loved to play Chopin and Debussy. These childhood experiences left a deep impression and ended up as the foundational philosophy of his career in music. Dillingham is that rare musician who excels in an orchestral setting yet has an intuitive feel for nuance and the improvisational skills necessary to play jazz. Christian brings the highly anticipated music from his latest recording, Halcyon. Set to release in October 2024, the album promises to be a masterpiece of modern jazz, with incredible new charts. Joining Christian in this musical journey are three of the finest talents in the jazz world: Matt Gold on guitar, Julius Tucker on piano, and Quin Kirchner on drums. Featured Artist: Printmaker Jill A. Kramer Jill is known for her infectious motto, “inky fingers, happy life!”. Her art brings joy and wonder to all who encounter it. Her passion for pattern, texture, mark-making, and saturated color shines through every piece she creates. Jill carves her art into linoleum blocks before printing on archival paper. Her bold lines and deep colors penetrate the paper and make you feel a part of the print. About Rendezvous Arts In the spring of 2020, a group of artists came together to discuss the new reality of performing arts during the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, we formed Rendezvous Arts—a not-for-profit organization centered on connecting people to the arts in a more visceral, informed experience to enrich the lives of the audience through personal interaction with artists, musicians, and one another. We produce monthly events from September through May in Dixon, Lake Forest, and Chicago, IL. All musicians and artists appearing with Rendezvous Arts are from the Chicago area.
