Dr. Lisa Damour, director of the Center for Research on Girls at the Laurel School in Ohio, will discuss “Young Women and Resilience.” This program is free and open to the general public.
Damour maintains a private psychotherapy practice, consults and speaks nationally, is a clinical instructor at Case Western Reserve University, and serves on the advisory board of the Eating Disorders Network. The author of numerous books and papers related to education and child development, she is a frequent contributor to the Motherlode blog at The New York Times.
The theme for the 2013-14 school year at Woodlands Academy is The Resilient Sacred Heart Woman. Graduating women of courage, confidence and compassion is Woodlands Academy’s four-year goal. The school is very much about educating young women to be resilient.
