Speaking of Unmentionables: The Rise & Fall of Ladies’ Undergarments
Thursday, 1/18 at 1:30pm
Women’s fashions are shaped, literally and figuratively, by their underclothes. Delicate pieces of linen and lace, stiff corsets, sturdy hoops and bustles are the unseen history of an era. Modern contrivances are no less remarkable. This novel presentation will unveil myths about women’s unmentionables. Examples of historic underwear will be displayed.
