McKinley Rd, Lake Forest, Sunday, February 28th from 8 a.m. to noon. This event typically serves more than 300 diners, and attracts Boy Scout alumni, young and old. The entire troop is involved, putting up tents, preparing pancakes, sausages, juice and coffee, bussing tables and mingling with hundreds of their Lake Forest neighbors. To purchase tickets for the breakfast, visit www.TRP48.org. Lake Forest Troop 48 logged 2,319 community service hours in 2015, supporting a wide variety of organizations by lending a hand. The Scouts, ages 12 to 17, place a flag at each local veteran?s gravesite on Memorial Day, help the city hang wreaths for the Holidays, help with roadside clean-up, and staff the concession stands during Lake Forest Day, in addition to individual community service projects. Founded more than 70 years ago, Lake Forest Troop 48 is an exemplary group of boys who learn leadership skills and the art of year-round camping, in all kinds of weather. The troop hosts high adventure treks, monthly campouts, weeks away at summer camp, skills training and rank advancement opportunities that guide the boys to Eagle Scout. This year?s pancake breakfast is sponsored by Starbucks, Sunset Foods, Heinens and Elite Communications Group. ###
