Description
The Wildlife Discover Center will host its annual CROCtoberfest at the Wildlife Discovery Center, 1401 Middlefork Drive, Lake Forest, IL on Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. During this fun-filled event for all ages, you can meet live crocodilians, including Bubba the world famous American Alligator, who will be appearing from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Their expert staff, along with members of the Chicago Herpetological Society, Madison Area Herpetological Society and Friends of Scales, will be there to talk about crocodiles and their kin (including some of the WDC’s very own residents), while also providing close up encounters with a variety of reptiles. There will be kid-friendly activities, face painting, the Wildlife Discovery Center’s Wildside Store, food and refreshments. The admission fee is a requested donation of $10 per person (at the door- cash, check or credit card) and will help the Wildlife Discovery Center maintain the high-level of care they provide their resident alligators and crocodiles. Additionally, a portion of the proceeds will help support crocodile conservation. Special thanks to the sponsor of this event, Knauz Autopark. Visitors must use the free shuttle bus service at the Lake Forest Hospital Staff Parking Lot (entrance off of Waukegan Road). The shuttle bus will run every 15 minutes.
