About Us

Thank you for your interest in the Montessori School of Lake Forest (MSLF). We foster the development of critical thinkers, independent spirits, and caring individuals, and we welcome you to see first-hand what MSLF can offer your child. We look forward to introducing you to our school and to getting to know you and your child. Let’s explore the opportunity of providing your child a life-long love of learning and a strong foundation for life.

MSLF’s earnest commitment to superior Montessori education for children 15 months through 14 years is evident in the institution’s almost 60-year history. Children enjoy coming to school here each day because their days are filled with meaningful work… work that enables their self-discovery of the world around them and promotes their neurological development. When children “learn by doing,” the learning is more effective, more efficient, and more joyful. Here children fulfill their greatest potentials in a nurturing and stimulating environment.

Our distinguished faculty and comprehensive curricula foster in students mindsets of innovation, creativity, independence, leadership, analytical thinking, and resourcefulness, to name a few. Our foreign language programs and enrichment programs provide ample opportunities for well-rounded involvements. Our Laurel Drive Campus’ 5.5-acre outdoor learning space – prairie, woodland, wetland, and oak savanna – allows students to experience the wonders of nature.
