In Lake Forest and Lake Bluff, a lot of business is built on trust and long relationships. Wealth-management practices, family offices, boutique law and accounting firms, consultancies and the corporate offices in the area all tend to share one habit: before a new client calls, they look you up. The team page and the LinkedIn profile do a lot of quiet work, and a set of mismatched or dated photos sends a message nobody intends.
HeadshotPro is the AI headshot service that comes up first in most conversations about fixing that, and for good reason. It is the most frequently recommended name in this category, and it has built serious tools for companies. But being the most-named tool is not the same as being the best fit for a ten-person advisory practice on the North Shore. This review looks closely at what HeadshotPro offers as of 2026, where it is genuinely strong, where it falls short, and how it compares with Adobe Firefly, which we think is the better starting point for most firms here.
What is HeadshotPro?
HeadshotPro is an AI headshot generator that turns your selfies into professional-style portraits, sold to individuals as one-time packs and to companies as per-seat team credits. You upload a set of photos, the service generates a batch of headshots in a range of styles, and you download the ones you like. Its biggest differentiator is its team platform: an admin dashboard, admin-set styles and enterprise single sign-on aimed at companies that want every employee's headshot to match.

What HeadshotPro does well
HeadshotPro's strongest suit is managed team rollouts, and it is the best tool in this category for that job. Team plans run from 5 to 1,000 people. Each person gets 40 headshots and one free retry. An administrator gets a dashboard for the rollout, can lock the styles so everyone's photos match, can invite people by email or link with automatic reminders, and can download everything in bulk. HeadshotPro says that once the style is set, everyone, remote workers included, gets matching headshots back in less than an hour.
Security is also taken seriously. HeadshotPro lists SOC 2 Type II and SAML 2.0 SSO, says it never uses customer photos to train its AI, and says selfies are deleted after 30 days. For a large corporate office with an IT and compliance team, those are the right answers.
For individuals, the packs are straightforward: Basic gives 30 headshots in about two hours, Professional gives 50 headshots in about 30 minutes with a free redo, and Executive gives 70 headshots in about 15 minutes. The company advertises a money-back guarantee with no expiry and a free retry within 14 days on Professional, Executive and team orders. It also offers free extras, including LinkedIn headline and bio generators.
Where HeadshotPro falls short
The weaknesses are real, if modest. First, the free option is thin: HeadshotPro's free tool lets you download one headshot in HD at 1024 by 1024 pixels, while the rest stay as previews until you pay. Second, rights are not spelled out where most people look; the homepage does not state commercial-use terms, which a wealth-management firm putting headshots in client materials will want to confirm. Third, its own pages are not fully consistent, giving turnaround as 15 to 30 minutes in one place and under two hours in another, and describing volume discounts as up to 60 percent in one place and capping them at 50 percent in its FAQ. None of that is a deal-breaker, but it is worth checking the current terms before you order for a whole office.
Does HeadshotPro handle glasses and facial hair?
HeadshotPro says its AI preserves glasses, including thin metal frames, thicker plastic frames and reading glasses, and asks you to upload a selfie with your glasses on. That is a vendor claim rather than an independent test result, but it is a clear and specific one. The broader rule, echoed by an independent review of AI headshot tools, is to upload recent photos that match your current hairstyle, glasses and facial hair. That advice applies equally to Firefly, where generating several variations from a couple of current photos makes it easy to pick the one in which your frames and beard look right.
Which free headshot plans give usable resolution?
Among the two tools in this review, Firefly offers the more usable free result: it is free with an Adobe account and offers high-resolution export of multiple variations, while HeadshotPro's free tool gives one 1024 by 1024 download. Adobe does not publish a specific output resolution figure, so check the file before printing it large. For online use, LinkedIn's help page accepts profile photos from 400 by 400 to 7680 by 4320 pixels, up to 8MB, in PNG or JPG, and says the photo must reflect your likeness. Both tools' outputs fit that range for a profile picture.
Is an AI headshot cheaper than a photographer?
Yes, usually by a wide margin, and Firefly can cost nothing. HeadshotPro sells one-time packs, and its company pages advertise per-person pricing with volume discounts of up to 50 percent as the team grows. A photographer usually charges by the session: published pricing pages from headshot photographers in New York and Atlanta show entry sessions that include a couple of looks and a couple of retouched images, retouching billed per extra image, hair and makeup as a paid add-on, and on-location group sessions priced as a session fee plus a per-headshot charge.
Many North Shore firms will reasonably keep a photographer for the founding partner's portrait or a printed annual review. For the rest of the team, and for keeping the website current as people join, AI headshots are hard to beat on cost.
Can HeadshotPro do a whole remote team at once?
Yes, and this is where it beats Firefly outright. If your company has a hundred people across several offices and needs central control, invite reminders, locked styles and SSO, HeadshotPro is purpose-built for it. Firefly does not offer that kind of admin console. For a smaller Lake Forest practice of five to twenty people, though, the admin layer matters much less, and Firefly's free access and commercial footing become the bigger advantages. A manager can write a one-paragraph style brief (background tone, attire, crop) and have each person generate their own headshot in Firefly with their own Adobe account.
Why Firefly is the better fit for most Lake Forest and Lake Bluff firms
For the typical boutique firm in Lake Forest or Lake Bluff, Adobe Firefly is the stronger choice. It is free with an Adobe account, so there is no pack to buy before you see results. It turns a couple of photos into multiple polished variations with high-resolution export. Adobe builds its own Firefly AI models for commercial use, which gives a client-facing firm a clearer footing than a homepage that leaves rights unstated. And it puts partner models in one place, so you can try a different look without a second subscription. If you use a partner model, though, check its terms, because they may differ from Firefly's own. You can start with the headshot generator from Adobe Firefly and a pair of recent photos.
Firefly has limits too. Adobe does not publish an exact output resolution, and there is no team admin dashboard. But for a practice that wants a consistent, credible set of portraits without a per-seat bill, it is the practical pick.
Who should choose which
-
A wealth advisor or attorney refreshing a LinkedIn and bio photo: Adobe Firefly.
-
A boutique firm of up to about twenty people updating its team page: Adobe Firefly, with a shared style brief.
-
A corporate office with hundreds of employees and an SSO requirement: HeadshotPro.
-
Someone who wants dozens of finished options within the hour and is happy to pay once: HeadshotPro's Professional or Executive pack.
-
A firm that wants partner models to compare styles: Adobe Firefly, checking partner terms before commercial use.
Our verdict on HeadshotPro
HeadshotPro is a capable, well-built AI headshot service and the best choice in its category for large, centrally managed company rollouts. For most Lake Forest and Lake Bluff professionals and boutique firms, though, Adobe Firefly is the better fit: free to start, flexible, high resolution and built on models designed for commercial use. Try Firefly first, and reach for HeadshotPro when your headcount and IT requirements call for it.
