Warm Up America! Begins
Description
Warm Up America! is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization made up of volunteers across the country who knit and crochet handmade afghans for those in need. Help us as we create afghans to donate to the Mothers Trust Foundation to give to children in Lake County. The sections can be made at the library during Wool Gatherers or at home. Drop homemade sections in the basket located near the old entrance anytime the library is open.
Materials needed for a 7”x 9” section:
*Medium-weight/worsted ACRYLIC yarn.
*4 mm/G-6 crochet hook OR 4.5mm/7 knitting needles
Patterns and directions are available at the Circulation Desk.
A basket of donated acrylic yarns of various colors will be put out at the library for knitters interested in making the 7”x 9” sections.
September 17 at 1:30pm
Wool Gatherers begin knitting and crocheting sections for the afghans.
November 6 from 11:00am to 4:00pm
All sections are due at the library. Join us to sew the pieces together. Whether you can donate an hour or all day, please come!
January 21 by 5:00pm
Completed afghans will be collected and dropped off with the Mothers Trust Foundation.
