The Opportunity 
GLASA is seeking an Equipment and Operations Assistant looking for a career in adaptive sports. The Equipment and Operations Assistant will ensure GLASA’s adaptive recreation and sports programs for Paralympic sports as well as wellness activities are of the utmost quality and value to athletes who have a physical or visual disability. 
 
Role and Responsibilities
Reports to Senior Program Manager

  • Responsible for getting sport equipment to and from programs, including practices, competitions, and tournaments
  • Assist with equipment repairs and communicate additional equipment needs to the program managers
  • Assist at GLASA events with set-up, take-down, and filling in as needed
  • Update and maintain an equipment inventory system
  • Assist coaches during sport programming and provide help to athletes as needed
  • Be a liaison between athletes, their families, and the GLASA program managers
  • Assist with facility organization and upkeep
  • Be a supportive team player with all GLASA staff
 
Requirements 
  • Must be able to travel to various sites to administer programs with 10% out of state travel 
  • Nights and weekend required 
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds  
  • Must be able to drive van/truck with trailer
  • Must be able to help with weekend events (6 – 8 per year) 
  • Valid driver's license
  • Pass background check and complete SafeSport course within 2 weeks of hire

Qualifications  
  • Strong passion to support adaptive and Paralympic sports both live and virtually
  • High school diploma or higher
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work successfully independently and with a team
  • Strong desire to help others, learn new skills, and create positive experiences for athletes
  • Good mechanical skills
  • Responsive and good communication skills
  • Associate’s degree or higher preferred
 
Salary commensurate with experience and education.
