Description
Getting to see how people decorate their homes for the holidays is one of the best parts of the Lake Bluff History Museum Holiday Home Tour. This year’s tour takes place on December 8 from 11 to 4:30 pm, and it will give visitors the opportunity to travel back in time through key periods on Lake Bluff’s history.
Three of the homes originated as Lake Bluff Camp Meeting cottages in the late 19th century. All have been lovingly restored, and one was even moved across town. Guests will get to tour one of Lake Bluff’s premier country manor homes, designed by architect David Adler and completed in 1923 for a single woman who entertained often and wanted a house to fit her needs and comfort – quite unusual for the times. The tour also includes a home built during the Great Depression as a simple ranch house that has in more recent years been beautifully expanded and remodeled, and a mostly new construction that retained part of the original structure to help bridge the centuries.
There will be three Holiday Boutiques in historic homes this year!
Lake Bluff History Museum Holiday Home Tour is on Dec. 8 from 11 am to 4:30 pm, starting at the Museum, 127 E. Scranton Avenue, Lake Bluff . Order your tickets online here!
