About Us

Midwest Young Artists Conservatory is one of the premiere youth music ensemble programs in the nation and the largest youth music ensemble program in the Midwest, serving over 900 young musicians of all ages and ability levels from over 75 communities throughout Chicagoland and beyond.

Our programs include 9 orchestras, 65+ chamber ensembles, 9 jazz big bands and combos, and 4 choral ensembles, as well as early childhood music classes, music theory classes, summer camps, three instrumental festivals, numerous workshops and master classes, and national concerto & chamber music competitions.

MYAC has garnered a reputation as a place for students to:
- become exceptional young musicians
- perform the world's finest music
- study with master teachers
- perform in prestigious venues and tour the world
- have fun with good friends!

The high quality of music performance in all genres creates a truly unique school where collaborative learning strengthens students' knowledge and skills. MYAC is a special home where camaraderie between students is promoted, there is an emphasis on respect and encouragement in the teaching relationship, and the main focus is the pursuit of musical excellence. MYA provides a place for students to grow with their peers in a competitive, yet friendly atmosphere. It is a program that provides opportunities and support for both future ''dedicated amateurs'' and students preparing for a future in the highly competitive world of music. MYA graduates are accepted at the most selective conservatories, colleges, and universities.
